BATTLE of the AIR-BANDS Competition
We have all heard of AIR GUITAR right? Some guy rocking out with fury ,shredding chords and solos like it no-ones business. And doing it so good without a guitar or even knowing how to play one. We've all done it! In the car, the bedroom mirror, on the dance floor.
But were you good? "SLAPPING THE BASS"... Are you star potential or simply A LEGEND?!
An AIR-BAND COMPETITON is just that and more. A full band with real instruments on a stage faking it LIVE in costume and character in front of Judges and fans, for a bag of cash & prizes.
Who can enter?
Anyone 16 years old or over can enter. High school students to the Ol' Gray Rockers can form a TRIBUTE AIR-BAND and perform that Artists INCONIC HITS that will convince the Judges that you and the band nailed it!
Note: Professional tribute acts cannot participate in this competition.***
What will you and the band perform?
Your band and singer will select from a predetermined list of iconic artists and songs.
Your AIR-BAND will practice, perfect and perform on stage to compete and win.
How many songs will we perform?
You will perform a 2 song set during a 10 minute window. Your winning goal is to perform the iconic songs at the most convincing level for the Judges and audience to determine a winning act.
How are the Acts Judged?
Judges will award points for key factors including Performance, Imitation, Accuracy of Voice and Instrument sync with the music. Costumes and outfits and of course the WOW factor. The audience will also provide feedback for the judges scoring. Showmanship and Audience Connection helps too!
What are the prizes?
The overall winners will take home OVER $1000.00 in CASH and prizes plus the glorious title of BEST AIR-BAND EAST of TOKYO! You're T-Shirt will prove it!
The daily winners will receive official branded Air-Band T-Shirts.
Daily Winners will repeat their winning performance for a new audience later in the day.
Overall winner will be announced and presented Sunday night at 8:00 pm
What do we bring with us?
There will be a private area to change into your stage cloths.
You will bring instrument that your character will be "pretending to play".
Guitars, Bass, Horns, etc. Stage Costumes and Props.
No flammable or explosives permitted.
The stage will be equipped with a drum kit, 3 microphones and stands.
The stage will be 20 x 12 feet with lighting and full PA. 6 people max onstage.
Only the lights and PA with be powered on. The singer may go live only to introduce a song or band members between songs... and the "Thank you Goodnight!"
The Host / MC will operate the audio and soundboard.
The stage will be inside the Grand Tent
We are registered? Now What?
- Find your AIR-BAND MEMBERS
- Appoint band member roles.
- Create your performance and routine.
- Designate who plays what instrument.
- Determine who will be the singer / performer
- Practice "faking the notes" and parts for your instrument.
- Rehearse to WIN! Practice your parts Make it look like its really you.
- Create your show / presentation
- Coordinate and "live mic" Script and actions with Sound Crew and Host.
- Be ready to put on a show to WIN!
- Enjoy the fanfare and have real fun.

Where do I select the songs and artist we will be mimicking?
.You will select the ARTIST preference on the REGISTRATION FORM.
Once we receive your registration and Artist preference, we will send you the 2 iconic songs.
The artists and songs are predetermined based on mass appeal, popularity, length and ease for technical production and coordination. Elvis to AC/DC to Madonna and ZZ Top. All the INCONS!
